I volunteered as a CG animator for Erin Leung's 3rd-year film project, The Boy and The Goldfish, A heartfelt CG short film about a boy’s emotional journey as he seeks affection from his strict mother through his bond with a goldfish.

I contributed around 5% of the animation, including:

• Shot 07: The boy panicking and hurriedly tidying up his desk (animated in 3 days)

• Shot 52: An upside-down, lifeless goldfish (animated in 4 days)

• Shot 53: The boy’s shocked reaction upon seeing the fish dead (animated in 5 days)​

 

I was responsible only for the animation and camera movement, all done in Maya. The modeling, texturing, rendering, and other production tasks were handled entirely by Erin’s team. This volunteer role was part of my Animation Practitioner module, where I where I specialized in CG animation.

Through this experience, I improved my organization skills and learned to effectively respond to feedback. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this meaningful project.
